We finally had our first visit to the beach since we came to Qatar. We went to Fuwairit beach with some friends last Friday. It is about 80km north of Doha, but well worth the drive. Doha does not have any public beaches. Rather, you have to have membership at one of the hotels (like Intercontinental or Sheraton) to use their private beaches. Then, there is Sealine beach, which is closer. You'll remember we went to the sand dunes there. The dunes are fun, but as for the beach, I have heard it is way too crowded. Fuwairit, on the other hand, was nice and isolated and in its natural state. More beach pictures here.
