Munich

We really liked Munich. It has the comfortable feel of a small city, but the best that both small and big cities have to offer:
  • Fun music scene: we even saw an opera performed outside in a plaza; the performers were excellent and the music also good; though it was drizzling a bit, nobody left --- people enjoy the arts :)
  • Great museums (the Pinakotek Moderne was our favorite). I even got to sit on a piece of art:

  • Wonderful gardens! We spent an entire day at the English Garden, and an afternoon at the Nymphenburg Palace gardens. The English Garden was our favorite:

  • The architecture in and around Munich is also very interesting:
    • The historical center

    • The 1972 Olympic Park:

    • And the traditional Bavarian architecture, where each building tells a story:

I can't end this without saying that traditional Bavarian food is really good, and of course, Peter would have to say that the beer was excellent! More Munich pictures here.
